One of my patient, anonmyous, infertile couple married since 2012, went for a laparoscopy of fallopian tubes in 2015 and was found to have hydrosalpinges along with endometriosis. In 2017, a famous infertility specialist perform 2 cycles of IVF back to back, and both failed. After having two failed cycles they went for tubal ligation along with laproscopy plus hysteroscopy and, and again IVF, and conceived.
The question is going for two IVF cycles back to back without tubal ligation comes under the umbrella of Malpractice or professional negligence? Is doctor accountable legally for professional negligence?
