Selecting a good Anaesthesiology textbook is like the option of which fruit juice is to be ordered? Personally, I feel reading the latest edition of Miller would be the best option but the bulk of the book can put you off. But during the lockdown period, you've plenty of time at your disposal. Beginners should read a textbook of Anesthesia by Smith and Aitkenhead or a Morgan and Mikhail's Clinical Anaesthesiology. Barash Clinical Anaesthesia is a good choice.

If you want to know the basics of Anaesthesiology, go for a short textbook of Anaesthesia by Ajay Yadav. Please don't depend on PDF files in circulation instead go for Kindle version. Last-minute preparations before exams would be best with objective anesthesia review by Atul Kulkarni. I wish you all the best, happy reading... Professor Col Pradeep Pendyala, ASRAM
