Doctors at a leading hospital in Pune have successfully performed the city’s first robotic left atrial myxoma excision, a complex minimally invasive heart-tumor removal carried out entirely through keyhole ports using robotic-assisted surgery. The procedure marks a significant advancement in robotic cardiac surgery, offering patients a less invasive alternative to conventional open-heart surgery with faster recovery and reduced post-operative complications. The patient, a 55-year-old woman from Wagholi, was diagnosed during a routine health check-up with a left atrial myxoma, a non-cancerous tumor located in one of the chambers of the heart.
