A medical team from the Chest Diseases Hospital in Kuwait carried out a rare valve replacement procedure on a patient in his twenties. Such a surgery is considered to be conducted for the first time in the Middle East. The team was assisted by the dean of the department of congenital defects. In this procedure, a balloon was first used to break the damaged valve, and then a new valve was inserted by catheterization, thereby, bypassing the need for an open-heart surgery.

. Following surgery, the patient was in good health and was scheduled for discharge after normalization of blood flow. Source: Kuwait Times For A Comprehensive Overview Of The Latest Happening In The Medical Field, Stay Tuned To  --- Docplexus News ....Every Friday
