Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) using a combination of aspirin and a P2Y12 inhibitor has resulted in the achievement of significant prognostic improvements among patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Perioperative management of patients with an indication for DAPT and in particular, patients during the first weeks after coronary stent implantation remains a challenging task. Benefits of DAPT were seen irrespective of treatment strategies.
