A 54 year male, diabetic, presented with typical peritonsillitis picture for about 10 times during the past 2.5 years. He had undergone tonsillectomy in the childhood. Sudden onset with or without fever and severe pain right side of the throat. Blood total WBC count and CRP are usually normal. Blood sugar normal or slightly elevated.
Many a times he was treated without antibiotics and sometimes patient himself starts it or I am forced to start as the clinical picture is scary. He is improved within 5 to 6 days. Injection Dexomethasone gives him much relief. Any comment?
