The environment we live in, continues to provide abundant resources that are slowly diminishing, thanks to human intervention. Every year, the World Environment Day is observed on the 5th of June to acknowledge the importance of the ecosystem. The year 2021 marks the beginning of the United Nations ‘ Ecosystem Restoration Decade ’.

This year, the theme of the day is ‘Reimagine, Recreate, Restore’. COVID-19 has brought to the fore the importance of things we truly need and take for granted–oxygen, clean air to breathe and clean water to drink.
