Instead of present PHCs and CHCs India needs only referral hospitals with not less than 60 beds and 20 doctors of all specialities. Rather NMC/ GOI should allow to start LMP type diplomas as was done in pre-independence era (of course, after 10+2 ISC stage) for 3 years to man such PHCs which may be kept under different state medical councils while MBBS and above should be under NMC or MCI as present. Every district hospital be converted to such medical schools and also those medical colleges not confirming to standards be demoted to such schools.
There should be a bridge course of 3 years for such LMPs to get futher MBBS by a separate examination, Various councils of dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy be merged to health council state wise and nationwide. AYUSH should have a different course and council and no bridge course rather they should be devoted to their own paths otherwise…
