Tetralogy of Fallot is a congenital cardiac abnormality that disrupts normal blood flow. The cause is unknown. It is estimated to affect 1 in every 3,000 live births. Tetralogy of Fallot and other congenital cardiac illnesses are common in children with chromosomal abnormalities like Down syndrome and DiGeorge syndrome. Figure 1.
