Prediabetes , a widespread condition characterized by elevated blood sugar levels below the diabetes threshold, has traditionally been managed through weight reduction. To challenge this approach, a study evaluated whether normalizing blood sugar levels through lifestyle changes, without weight loss, could lower type 2 diabetes risk, involving over 1100 participants. The study found that normalizing blood sugar levels through lifestyle changes without weight loss reduced the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by up to 71%, comparable to the 73% risk reduction seen with weight loss.

Additionally, participants who achieved normal blood sugar showed lower visceral fat levels, improving insulin sensitivity and metabolic health. These findings suggest that restoring normal blood sugar levels through lifestyle changes, even without weight loss, can significantly lower the risk of type 2โ€ฆ
