At present we are in the era of subspecialties ad modern investigative procedures. If a patient has headache should CT scan be the first line of investigation and the answer is no. The patient should have a complete clinical examination and turns to be simple then no need of CT scan. However, headache could be manifestation of raised intracranial pressure. The clinical examination will reveal presence of diplopia or nystagmus and fundus will show papilledema.

Here CT scan or MRI of brain is must. A patient of diabetes should have a detailed eye and fundus examination if it is revealed retinopathy then go for ocular acute onset esotropia with diplopia and nystagmus should go for euro imaging. Paediatric ophthalmic examination should be done under mydriatic examination under sedation. Share your opinions.
