The cardiovascular disease continuum (CVDC) is a chain of events triggered by several cardiovascular risk factors, which if left untreated will, inevitably, result in end-stage heart failure and death. The major cardiovascular risk factors that lead to CVDC are consist of dyslipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and smoking. Increasing evidence suggests that early intervention in managing the cardiovascular risk factors is more important than treating the cardiovascular disease (CVD) itself.
