Despite significant therapeutic advance, there are 26 million heart failure patients world wide. Heart failure (HF) represents a primary cause of morbidity and mortality in older people. HF is still characterized by important unmet needs, thus remaining a challenging field of clinical research. Recently, a new promising drug for HF has been proposed LCZ696, which is a combination of sacubitril and valsartan.

This article will present a general overview of sacubitril/valsartan combination. The sacubitril/valsartan is a combination of neprilysin inhibitor and angiotensin receptor antagonist valsartan (ARNi).
