Highlights Current treatment recommendations for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) advise the use of glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists, with a majority of them administered subcutaneously or needing stringent fasting conditions before or after consumption. A phase 2b randomized clinical trial was carried out in 411 adults with T2DM to investigate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of danuglipron, which doesn’t require any specific conditions of administration. Glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R) agonists are recommended for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients based on their glycemic status and the presence of comorbidities.
