Synopsis The role of dapagliflozin in inducing a favorable cardiovascular outcome in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is unknown. Since diabetes, atherosclerosis, and heart failure are all closely connected, it is of paramount importance that diabetic therapeutic interventions are also effective in reducing any cardiovascular risk in T2DM patients.
