Diabetes mellitus has been associated with sexual dysfunction, both in males and in females. However, sexual dysfunctions in the form of erectile dysfunction (ED), retrograde ejaculation, and subfertility are well documented in diabetic men, as compared to men with no diabetes. The prevalence of ED in diabetic men is often underdiagnosed and undermanaged. Also, research on the effect of diabetes on men’s health is very scarce, thus warranting anthropological, epidemiological, behavioral, and clinical studies in this area of interest.
