Cannabis indica which is lay man's terminology is called as bang commonly used in rural areas of India. This is also cultivated in these rural areas this is a prohibited cultivation when taken either with a cigarette or commonly with curd water. It gives manifestations of hallucinations so it becomes an additive stuff.
However, it does have some ophthalmic manifestations which are as follows: Conjugate deviation of eyes Pinpoint pupils Reduces IOP In one of the studies effect of Cannabis indica was seen on IOP the study was performed in this way Study group chronic consumers of Cannabis indica were selected, rabbits were given injections of Cannabis indica . In both human and experimental animal study when IOP was measured with sciots tonometer it was noticed that it lowers IOP. However, it is only an experimental study we cant prescribe this drug as an antiglaucoma medication.…
