Miss A.V. aged 23 yrs has a H /O Schizophrenia for the last 4 years with many admissions to Hospital. During the last 4 years she was prescribed chlorpromazine, haloperidol, sulpiride, resperidone, olanzapine, Zuclopenthixol. This time she has a fixed belief that she is involved with mythical beast that sexually assault her. Currently she is under Zuclopenthixol 500 mg I M./week. Olanzapine 10 mg at night, Carbamazepine 200 mg thrice daily haloperidol 10 mg four times daily Procyclidine 10 mg 3times daily.
She is admitted in the ward for the last 5 months with no signs of improvement. Her wt has increased from 70 kg to 85 kg. Now Psychiatrist wants to start Clozapine for her. What actions are required before starting Clozapine? Comment on the medicines pt is being given.
