Recently I came across a single family where three members had extensive colorectal polyps on colonoscopy.The age range was between 10 to 19 years.All of them happen to be siblings of single father and mother.Two of them are sisters and the other one was their young brother of 10 years.all of them had similar complaints of bloody and mucoid stool and intermittent pain abdomen.The two daughters underwent total proctocolectomy with ileoanal pouch anastomosis while their younger brother had been kept on close surveillance, The two siblings are fine on a year follow up.I wanted to do a blood genetic tests find out the presence of APC mutations  to confirm these patients of FAP.However to my utter dismay, we did not have any such facilities in the government hospital neither I could locate a research facilities where I could get them done.India ha such a huge population and so many familial…
