I advised that this baby"s mildly +ve Hep B test by rapid card test could be repeated after few months or instantly quantitative HBsAG estimation would have been done. Or other tests for the infection like HBV DNA pcr etc would have been done. Repeat same test from other lab was same. But since these are costly usually adopting couples defer to get further investigated due to expense involved in detail investigations.

This infant was healthy and had normal motor  and psychosocial development and since birth baby was in an orphanage so maternal status and family history was not known. What should be done in such cases. Would it have been correct to hide the +ve result from the prospective adoptees?
