Recently California State of the USA has made changes in the bill related to the penalty of HIV positive individuals who intentionally infect others. This includes: Intentionally (knowingly) donating HIV-infected blood Intentionally (knowingly) infecting sexual partner/s Support groups, pro-reformers, public health personnel and others protested the bill indicating that such law considers HIV patients as criminals instead of considering them as unfortunate individuals who need prolonged treatment and support. However, intentionally harming anyone IS an offense disregarding the medical status.

This is especially true when somebody has mischievous intention to infect others with highly fatal diseases. If such things are allowed, it will become a serious public threat. Although Indian law amendments treat HIV patients with equal rights, the criminal laws should also be implemented equally…
