For many years, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is associated with pros and cond. Although HRT is considered as a panacea, some studies found that these supplement hormones can lead to a higher risk of breast cancer. In this regard, a very recent study published in JAMA has explored the possibility of effects of receiving HRT for five to seven years. The study included 27000 women who were randomly assigned to receive either placebo or HRT alone if they had had a hysterectomy.
They were followed for 18 years for tracking any chronic diseases like cancer, heart attack or deaths. The study included that the death rates from any cause were similar for both groups.
