Dear All, as we have our Stethoscope for routine chest cases management in emergencies like: General surgery procedures of more than four to six hours. Neurosurgery of more than eight hours. Organ transplant surgery of more than twelve hrs.
Should we really wait for a PFT report to make a diagnosis of obstructive airway disease or restrictive airway disease to manage the patient in ICU/emergencies? Does our Stethoscope solve our problems to treat the patients in that dire emergencies to save a life? I s PFT a totally obsolete test or a money-earning investigation in our medicine field or does it have any prognostic value for patient/our health system too in the present era?
