A study revealed that three-fifth of the beneficiaries of the Maharashtra-sponsored Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Aarogya Yojana, which offers cashless treatment in the city, have been forced to make out-of-pocket payments during hospitalization. Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Aarogya Yojana as it states to be implemented with an objective of improving access of Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Above Poverty Line (APL) families to quality medical care for identified specialty services requiring hospitalization for surgeries and therapies or consultations through an identified Network of health care providers. The scheme entails around 971 surgeries/therapies/procedures along with 121 follow up packages in specified 30 identified specialized categories.
