Goldenhars syndrome is a congenital syndrome. This entity characterised by the congenital presence of limbal dermoid with an associated congenital presence of preauricular skin tag or appendage, in some 5 to 15 percent cases of GHS.
There are some congenital associated anomalies in the form of Facial asymmetry Harelip and cleft palate High arched palate Defects in kidney, spine, limbs, dental anomalies, hearing defect, congenital heart impairment of memory and intelligence, squint etc, all these congenital lesions are due to incomplete development of 1st and 2nd branchial arch due to defect in genes not inherited autosomal recessive or dominant.
