Early detection and diagnosis of glaucoma are important to minimize the risk of progressive and irreversible vision loss. IOP is an important and the only modifiable risk factor for controlling disease progression. Despite the availability of IOP lowering treatments, many patients show disease progression.
Hence, optimization of glaucoma therapy is essential to preserve visual functions. This article presents an overview of present and new treatment strategies for glaucoma management.
