With unseen mutations and newer variants of SARS-CoV-2 emerging with time, the WHO in the Southeast Asian (SEA) region is targeting quicker laboratory tests to detect new variants at the earliest and curtail their spread. The aim is to expand the testing capacity at the subnational levels, enabling access to everyone. In this article, we’ve enlisted and described the focus areas (Figure 1 and Table 1) in detail.
