What is the treatment and investigation guideline of Typhoid and paratyphoid fever?How reliable widal test? I am Doctor of BPHC, I found from last 6months that among the admitted patients 80% are suffering from Typhoid and paratyphoid fever with local lab report of (TH:1:80/1:140,TO:1:160 ) which are confusing, they are treated with inj.ceftriaxone(1gm)-iv,bd.x10ds.someone cured someone not, the patient with oneday or 2-3days fever getting a lab report on self recommendation and admitted in Hospital.so my question is that,what is current treatment and investigation protocol for typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever?
what is interpretation of widal test? Kindly give your suggestion.
