Suicides are the 3rd leading cause of deaths for young people which accounts for 20% of all deaths annually. This phenomenon is more prevailing among children younger than 12 years than previously realized. Child safety and suicidal behavior in young children are a major concern society is facing. It was once assumed that young children were not capable of either contemplating or committing suicidal acts; however, the research has shown that young children do plan, attempt, and successfully works their ways towards suicide.
