Cleft lip and palate is the most common congenital deformity occurring in almost one in 700 people. When a baby is born with a cleft lip /or palate it is very distressing for the parents as it a psychological set back. There are problems associated with feeding, swallowing, speech, ear infections etc. However cleft lip and palate can be corrected if shown to a specialist doctor at the right time, and the patients are able to lead a normal healthy lifestyle if treated adequately.
