I was given impression that MBBS doctor is qualified to do surgeries which he is confident of doing. Somewhere I read that in metro cities like Mumbai ,Chennai etc,, where  many PG medicos  are available MBBS is not supposed to venture even minor surgeries.

What is legal consequence  of MBBS  performing surgeries in metro city. I presume it is permitted in rural settings.
