Multiple myeloma (MM) is one of the plasma cell dyscrasias and represents an incurable clonal B-cell malignancy with an annual incidence of 1% of all malignancies and 10% of all hematological malignancies. According to epidemiological studies, Indian incidence of MM was found to be 6,000 new cases/year. Despite the advancements in the pathogenesis and etiology of this disease, treatment of the disease remains a major challenge.
