Takasyus arteritis is a very rare disease it is an inflammatory disease of big vessels of the arterial system like aorta subclavian brachial carotid renal and very rarely the coronary arteries.It is an autoimmune disorder of the blood vessels. It is more common in women than in men.It is common in persons below 40 year in contrast to giant cell arteritis around the age of 60 year though it is not linked to nicotine sensitivity as in" tao" it is advised not to use nicotine products.
According to the vessel affected the may land with claudication pain in the limbs or hypertension due to renal artery stenosis or stroke or dizziness and fainting.
