A recent survey based study revealed that healthcare professionals working in an interventional procedure involving radiations are more prone to work-related musculoskeletal pain than who are not into using radiations. The incidence of cancer is same in both workgroups. The study showed technicians are more prone to this occupational hazard than physicians. The occupational hazards of working in the interventional laboratory have been inadequately studied for physicians and healthcare professional.

Especially exposure to radiation in such occupational set-up is a major health concern for professionals working in such laboratories.
