Tennis elbow, clinically known as Lateral Epicondylitis, is basically an overuse syndrome or tendinosis involving the region of the lateral humeral epicondyle. Although playing tennis or other racquet sports can cause this condition, the association of any particular sports is not obvious. The tendon usually involved in tennis elbow is called the Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis (ECRB).
In this condition, most often the origin of the ECRB displays an abnormal vascular proliferation and focal hyaline degeneration resulting in painful inflammation of elbow.
