Police in Karkala, Karnataka, have registered a case against three doctors at a private hospital following allegations of medical negligence that led to the death of a 52-year-old woman. According to a complaint filed by the patient’s daughter, the woman had been suffering from ill health for a prolonged period and had been receiving treatment at the same private hospital since May 10. On May 14, at around 9:30 a.m., she developed severe abdominal pain and was taken to the hospital. After examination, intravenous fluids were administered.
The complaint alleges that despite repeated requests from family members, no doctor examined the patient for several hours.
