When I wake up daily - and check my newspaper and social networking channels - I always find a news regarding a violent assault on doctors in some part of the country. Sometimes there is a strike and sometimes only discussion and sympathy. Doctors ask for security and administration promise to provide and the life goes on without any result. According to one study, 40 percent of doctors have suffered such type of assault. The security staff/police will never be able to defend the doctors - they just watch and run away if the mob is there.
They are not answerable to the doctor who is being assaulted. The only thing doctors do is to complain and lodge and FIR and we all know the judicial system in India.
