In a significant move to curb the scarcity of specialist doctors in district hospitals, the government has introduced two-year PG diploma courses for MBBS students. The central government and the Medical Council of India (MCI) have announced recognition for t wo-year diploma courses post-MBBS . They have introduced courses in eight medical specialties under the National Board of Examinations.
