A team of surgeons from Dubai Hospital’s urology department successfully operated a 46-year-old Emirati lady who was suffering from a massive tumor weighing about 3.5kg surrounding her left kidney. The patient reported at the Emergency room with complaints of left flank pain and abdominal distension. After further examination at the ER, a CT scan of the abdomen was scheduled which detected a big palpable mass of about 16x14cm in size. The surgeon diagnosed the patient with retroperitoneal sarcoma that compressed her left kidney and had rotated and displaced her kidney inferiorly.

The patient was further referred to the urology department for the immediate removal of the tumor. However, the patient insisted on traveling abroad for her treatment.
