A team of surgeons from the Canadian Specialist Hospital , Dubai successfully performed a three-hour corrective surgery on a 5-year-old child with a rare congenital defect, known as hypospadias . In the condition, the opening of the urethra is located on the underside of the penis, instead of being positioned at the tip. According to the operating surgeon, Dr. Muthanna Alrawi , execution of this corrective procedure was challenging as the surgery should have been performed earlier when the patient was one and a half-year-old. Nonetheless, in this corrective plastic surgery procedure, a new channel was created to allow the child to pass urine with ease and comfort.
