Total knee replacement is an effective intervention for functional recovery and pain relief in patients suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee. However, a significant number of patients are not satisfied with the outcome of their primary knee replacement surgery. This dissatisfaction can be attributed to a wide range of factors covering various domains such as preoperative (mental health, knee function), intraoperative (tibial resection), postoperative (swelling, occurrence of postoperative complications), and sociodemographic factors. Taking these factors into consideration can help surgeons and healthcare providers to deliver better care and help improve patient satisfaction after undergoing total knee replacement surgery.
