Multiple myeloma is a form of plasma cell malignancy with high morbidity and mortality rates. This condition constitutes around 1% of all cancer cases worldwide. Early diagnosis of the disease can be crucial to a good prognosis of the disease. Identification of high-risk individuals and the presence of any early-stage abnormalities can help significantly in this regard. A collaborative and multidisciplinary approach, along with improved public awareness about the disease, can help improve care for patients afflicted with it.
