Colleagues here would have known the campaign on behalf of the mentally ill - for restoration of their human rights and extension of every basic dignity which is their due. I have myself published extensively on the matter as have several other colleagues.
It was therefore very satisfying to receive this letter yesterday from the World Health Organization: Dear Dr.Prasad, Today, 1 July 2016, the UN Human Rights Council adopted a Resolution on Mental Health and Human Rights (attached), led by Portugal and Brazil and cosponsored by 61 countries, with more countries still joining.
