A urologist and robotic surgeon at a private hospital in Chennai has successfully treated a rare case of tumors in the urinary bladder and kidney in an 85-year-old diabetic patient. The patient initially visited a hospital with complaints of hematuria . An ultrasound revealed that his right kidney was abnormally positioned in the lower abdomen. He was subsequently referred to the private hospital for further examination and treatment. Initial tests at the private hospital suggested a kidney infection.

However, advanced imaging and endoscopy revealed tumors in the patient’s bladder and ectopic pelvic kidney. He was diagnosed with urothelial carcinoma affecting both the bladder and the kidney.
