The US FDA has approved losartan potassium oral suspension for treating hypertension in patients aged six years and older, reducing the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy, and treating diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes. Losartan potassium is an angiotensin II receptor blocker and the first and only FDA-approved ready-to-use oral liquid losartan.
