The increasing incidence of violent cases and attacks on doctors and other healthcare professionals has spurred the need for complete attention to HCPs' safety. Heeding to so many protests and marches, and adding to existing rules and regulations to check the violence against doctors, the National Medical council has now proposed a new regulation of refusing treatment to violent patients. According to these new regulations, doctors may refuse treatment to violent and abusive patients. Incidents of abusive and violent behavior can be documented and reported by the doctor, who can then refer the patient to another hospital or a clinic instead of treating him/her.
