At present, 80% of the taluka and district hospitals have a shortage of radiologists, pulmonologists and other medical specialists. The National Medical Commission (NMC) aims at having an adequate number of doctors in every taluka and district hospital across India, and fill the loopholes in healthcare exposed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The following are the reforms planned by the NMC โ The NMC, as an official medical board, plans to give a special recognition degree to young MBBS doctors who work in isolated areas for two years. This recognition might address the issue of poor healthcare service in rural areas.
The digital revolution introduced by the COVID-19 pandemic will be strongly implemented by the Indian medical fraternity. Digitization shall increase patient access to medical care. The new vision is to make India the first country to dissociate healthcare from affluence.โฆ
