A 75-year man with long-standing Diabetes on Insulin has developed increased s. creatinine. He has already got preferable neuritis with sensory loss below the ankles. At present his complaints are loss of taste for the food and loss of appetite which leads to lower of the blood sugar on and off which forces him to eat some sweet.
He is otherwise mobile and is able to do his routine without any help. My question is can diabetes cause damage to his taste buds? If so, what is the treatment?
