What is the probable cause and management strategy for a 50-year-old patient with chronic productive cough. The patient is having hypertension, is non-diabetic and is not having a history of smoking? Patient is not taking ACE inhibitor. PFT, CXPA VIEW, CBC, Absolute eosinophil count, HRCT, Indirect laryngoscopy reports are WNL.
Patient was prescribed inhaler, PPI, montelukast for last 6 months but it seems no significant improvement. AFB not found. Patient has no history of frequent temperature changes, dust allergy and change of voice. Duration of the cough is one year.
