A 67-year-old man presented to the clinic with a history of diabetes and complaints of fever, extreme weakness and respiratory distress. The patient’s chest X-ray showed right lower lobe consolidation and a diagnosis of severe community-acquired pneumonia was made.
He was treated with antibiotics, ventilatory support (non-invasive) and was admitted to the intensive care for a week.
